Exeter Cross is an early-ripening dessert apple with a short shelf life. The tree crops well, and it needs a pollinator. It was introduced in 1924 by G.T. Spinks at Long Ashton Research Station, and it is a Worcester PearmainBeauty of Bath cross.

The apples have firm, crisp and juicy flesh with a refreshing taste. They are small and are picked in early August.
